We got to Oklahoma City the day before our show - so a valued day off.
My first order of business was to get a fresh bottle of Fernet Branca, the Italian drink I love - and the bottles we had on the bus are empty now.
Found a liquor store not far from the hotel that had one bottle prominently on a back shelf. I brought it up to the counter and the gentleman there said, “What is that?”
“Well,” I said, “it’s a bottle of liquor…”
“We’ve had that bottle there for two years and nobody knew what it was. It was delivered here by mistake!”
Anyway, happily, I left with the not-so-fresh bottle, and in my lovely hotel room I got to test it to make sure it’s okay for the bus.
It is.
At the venue, called The Criterion
Doug is warming up Steve’s guitars…
Hey, I’m jamming with Adrian!
But who’s that other guitar player?
Later, we’re dressed and ready to go
That picture is a great example of luck in photography - or ‘if you give a monkey a camera and he takes enough pictures…’
I took a few of Randy in the hallway as we’re about to go onstage. Didn’t realize until I saw it later that, not only was he reflected nicely in the mirror, but Adrian had popped out of his dressing room, unintentionally photobombing Randy, and his reflection was in another glass.
Yeah, I’ll take credit for that shot, sure!
Second set
Again by accident, Danny tosses stick in front of what I indended to be a photo of the audience
Wonderful show.
Next for us is San Antonio. More soon.
