First tour leg is ended, and as I often do, I’ve chosen some of my favorite pictures. These are from the Euro/U.K. tour leg, and I’ve added another little written thing that might be of interest.
We’ll start with Peter
Here’s a little tidbit from the tour:
Before the tour started, when I was learning the song “I/O”, somehow I conflated it with the experience of eating a lot on the road (irreverent, I know.) And for fun I re-wrote the lyrics to be about that.
At rehearsals I shared these ‘alternative lyrics’ with everyone, and they got a kick out of them - so it seems a good time to share them here.
I/8 - (tony’s revised lyrics)
I eat a part of everything, I just had two legs and a chicken wing
There isn’t too much that can avoid these lips, I walk with my sandwich and I nibble on my chips
I know what it takes to improve my mood, I just sit down at a table that is covered with food
Some days are easy and some days are rough, but there’s never a day that I don’t eat enough
Stuff that was out is stuff coming in, I eat a part of everything
stuff that was out is stuff coming in, well maybe some of it’s a dribble on my chin
I ATE I ATE - IF IT WAS OUT, IT’S COMING IN
I ATE I ATE - I EAT A PART OF EVERYTHING
I ATE I ATE - I TOOK AN APPLE AWAY FROM STING
I ATE I ATE - I EAT A PART OF EVERYTHING
When we break for lunch, I always know my place - I rush out to the catering as if it was a race
see a bowl of spuds nicely covered with chives - I grab them all before the band even arrives
Is that a salad, spread out as a buffet? - Better have some for my health, it’s the only way
Then some meat and veg, this is looking very good - and when it’s done I look around for some pud
Stuff coming in, stuff that was out - I add a little ketchup and I give a little shout
Stuff that was out is stuff coming in - it’s the hard work of eating that keeps me thin
I ATE I ATE - IF IT WAS OUT, IT’S COMING IN
I ATE I ATE - I EAT A PART OF EVERYTHING
I ATE I ATE - FIRST IN THE LINE AT CATERING
I ATE I ATE - I EAT A LOT OF EVERYTHING
At the end of the day when I’m lying in my bed, I jump out, run to the kitchen for a snack instead
if the fridge is empty I start to fill with dread, but I settle for some Marmite on a slice of bread
Stuff coming in, stuff that was out - anything that I can wrap my mouth about
Stuff coming in, nothing left out - food coming in is what it’s all about
I ATE I ATE - IF IT WAS OUT, IT’S COMING IN
I ATE I ATE - I EAT A PART OF EVERYTHING
I ATE I ATE - FIRST IN THE LINE AT CATERING
I ATE I ATE - I EAT A LOT OF EVERYTHING

I know I write this often, but… if you’re in one of the pictures and want a better view, clicking on it will give you a larger version, and then clicking again slightly larger. We added that feature to the site just for you.
A great tour for us, as I hope you can tell from the photos.
We’ll be back out in September, touring Canada and the U.S. Hope to see you then.
