In Bordeaux for our concert at Arkea Arena.
First issue, beforeshow, was that I’d stubbed my toe pretty badly and it was looking like it might be broken. A medical team was onhand, wrapped it, and I had a photo op! (they fixed it up fine.)
(Hey, you wanted ‘behind the scenes’ pics!)
Soon after…
I don’t mean to be in so many of these pics - selfies weren’t my intention - but only had the 360 camera onstage tonight, and with the full wraparound it’s hard to get a picture that doesn’t have you in it.
Foot’s fine, by the way.
Story of the day: as tours (and years) go on, rhythm sections get ‘tight’ musically, and probably in all ways. Especially so, drummers and bassists. Yesterday was a day off, and Manu spent it in Paris while I was in London. When we arrived separately to the Bordeaux dressing room, I asked what he’d done. He said he’d visited with his daughter, and showed me the new shoelaces he’d bought. I smiled, pointed down at my feet. I’d also visited with my daughter in London, and in a quite amazing coincidence, I’d bought new shoelaces. Tight.
Bows
Excellent audience, and a fun night for us.
Next will be a show in Birmingham and further UK shows.
More soon.
