Back in Bergen at least for me - I played here with StickMen in 2015, and know it to be a lovely city, the dock area especially is worth visiting.
Each show is unique, but this one is going to stand out in a number of ways… the venue is outdoors, and this is Norway - not the warmest of countries. And last night the sun didn’t go down until about 10:30pm… which is about when our show ends, so it will be the brightest of our outdoor concerts.
Have to admit I’m missing my dogs. And this test graphic of a dog has me craving some dog attention.
Soundcheck:
No, this is not my shot of tonight’s show - it’s a photo on the wall backstage, of a concert here at the Koengen venue. But it’s a good way to see what it’s like.
All set to start the show. I have a few extra layers under the stage outfit
and we join him around the virtual campfire.
To find, very quickly, that the sun is blindingly bring, and hovers right over the audience. Hard to look out at all without squinting.
And very warm in the sun… I’ve clearly over dressed for this - can’t wait for intermission to take off a layer. Or… will it be colder in the 2nd half?
Part 2: the sun is still lingering right behind the audience - so it’ll be Darkness without darkness!
“Joy” with joy!
My 360 degree camera is quirky, and I can often fashion interesting shots out of the full viewpoint it has, but it’s a bit of a wildcard because you can’t see what it’s shooting. And this time I found that, unknown to me, it decided to delay one picture until after I’d put it down. So, I found a one time pic of “Road to Joy”, I guess I should title “JoyStick”
and, a surprise to us… a front of stage bows - well, three of them, one backwards!
A special night in so many ways, some quite unexpected. It’s a show we won’t forget.
And on the walk back to the hotel, a wonderful view of the moon over Bergen.
More soon.
