King Crimson 2015 Tour

First shows

Waterside Theatre

Moved on Sunday to Aylesbury and the Waterside Theatre, set up, and at night ran through the show, with some friends & family there to see the show preview.

Then the next night was the official first show of the tour.

Beautiful theater, and we could tell even from the stage that the sound is very good here.

The beautiful, haunting music you hear as you come in was just composed by Robert, after soundcheck!
Backstage, a very nice welcome from the promoters:

Before going onstage, since we were somewhat in our usual stage clothes, we tried posing for a few pictures, to be used for publicity.

Didn't like the way they came out, so we'll do it again tomorrow.
Okay, about ready to go onstage...
and, what's getting to be a familiar sight,
Those were from the Aug. 30 performance. Here we are heading onstage on the 31st

As I’ve written before, I won’t be taking any photos during the shows, in respect to having asked the audience to do the same. But what we saw at the shows’ end, when the house lights came up, was the theatre full of lovely people, an enthusiastic audience who seem to have liked the performance very much!

For those interested in what pieces we’re playing on this tour, the shows will vary on different nights. What we’ve done so far is:

Aug 31: Larks Tongues in Aspic Part I, Pictures of a City, Suitable Grounds for the Blues (first performance of it), One More Red Nightmare, Radical Action into Meltdown (two more new compositions), Hell Hounds, Easy Money, The ConstruKCtion of Light, Epitaph, Banshee Bells, The Letters, Sailors Tale, Interlude, Red, Starless, Devil Dogs, In the Court of the Crimson King, 21st Century Schizoid Man.

Sept 1: Larks Tongues in Aspic Part I, One More Red Nightmare, Vrooom, Suitable Grounds for the Blues, Radical Action, Meltdown, Hell Hounds, Easy Money, The ConstruKCtion of Light, Level 5, Epitaph, Interlude, Talking Drum, Larks Tongues in Aspic PartII, Starless, Devil Dogs, Red, In the Court of the Crimson King, 21st Century Schizoid Man.

And we have a few more pieces ready, that we haven’t fit into a set yet.

After all the rehearsing, it is great to be underway and sharing our music.

Next stop is Cardiff… More soon.
