At the Cutting Room, a classic venue in NYC, a very special four nights of David Bowie music, with a cast of Bowie band alumni.

The others have played together many times. I was invited to join for this string of shows (having recorded with David) and Gail Ann Dorsey, the wonderful bassist and singer, mostly sang, taking over on bass for a few pieces (which gave me a chance to shoot photos!)

It was some heavy lifting, sorting out the charts for 29 pieces… and I’ll admit that the first night I had my head fairly buried in the music.

But, fun the whole four nights.

Something about that hat of Mark’s… kept reminding me of something, but I couldn’t put my finger on it…

Oh, yeah… of course!

It was a super treat for the players and audiences. Hope we can do it again next year!
