BEAT Euro 26

Bucharest Show

Rain, and lots of it, greeted us here in Bucharest at the Arenele Romane. Some heavy thunder too, so we held off on setting up the gear, and soundcheck as well, to see how the weather would progress.

But things did clear up in the afternoon, the sun peeking through

some shots from the backstage area

People have started coming in

And the band is ready

Here we go

I didn’t get many photos of the first set – maybe I’m just used to the shows being at night, and had the camera settings wrong. Anyway, at the intermission, something unusual. There was a bit of a crowd of technicians on the stage, all looking upward.

“What’s going on?” … well, it turned out that a bird had settled in the rigging, over the drums, and during the first set it was pooping onto the drums! The sound techs even could hear the notes. And it wasn’t going away, it seemed, whatever they tried… so they send a guy up to the bird to convince him to leave.

I’ve never run into that issue before at a show.

Junior gets the pleasant job of cleaning off the drums!

and, with things delayed a bit, I’m enjoying getting some pics of everyone waiting to go on.

Encores...

The usual reminder, you can click on any photo to see a larger version of it.

Maybe I say this a lot, but it was a great night.

Kind of sad that we need to move on… so right after the show it’s onto the bus and we’re headed to Budapest where we’ll next play.

More soon.
