One of those shows where everything goes right - a really special one for us.
This morning we jumped off the bus…
to find a venue that’s built like a small town… shops, beautiful buildings, and in the center the stage with a kind of museum behind it for the backstage area
It’s not a town, it’s a venue with nice small town elements built around it.
At soundcheck, sun beating down on the stage, they’d set up little canopies to keep us cooler!
Close to showtime and people are filling up the square
Here come the guys…
When we play the piece “Industry” and Adrian gets deep into his otherworldly sounds, I often notice the faces of people watching him, probably thinking “how can a guitar sound like that?”
Ready for the second half of the show
“Enough photos, come on up and join us for a bow!”
For me, the High Point of the night was aftershow - meeting a bass player idol of mine, Carles Benevent. To me he’s one of the great’s of my generation, and though we knew of each other, we’d never met before.
So, a wonderful night. Next up for us, a long drive, then a night off and we’ll begin the Italian part of our tour. Can’t wait to get my first espresso there!
More soon.
